There are a lot of techniques for getting a girl’s phone number. Generally, they all come down to one theory, you create a reason for the two of you to talk on the phone. Even better yet, you lead her to creating a reason for the two of you to talk on the phone.
This advice gets stuck on a lot, me included. There was a girl who I used to chat with quite frequently. I liked her, she liked me, but there was a disconnect. I wanted to get her phone number, but most of all, I wanted to ’seduce her’ properly, and have her give me the phone number. Make it her idea, you know?
I would lead the conversation in directions in which would imply she should invite me somewhere and act stupid about how we might meet up. This continued for days till I practically yanked the invitation out of her with a pair of pliers. I had the wrong focus.
A dialogue I would frequently shoot for would be…
Me: “Yeah so I’m doing [awesome thing]…”
Her: “That sounds like fun”
Me: “You should tag along, but how would we get a hold of each other?”
Her: “Well, um… I could give you my phone number!”
Me: “Fantastic Idea, here’s my phone, type it in. You know how to work a cell phone right?”
This takes the idea of making it her idea, a dash of weird manipulation tricks and results in her volunteering the information. You’re hoping that by her physically giving you the phone number she’s going justify to herself that, oh yeah, I gave him my phone number, I should totally go out with him.
Ok, yeah, that works sometimes. Hell, it even works a hell of a lot better than the conventional, “Can I get your number?” If you are out actively engaging with the opposite sex, you’ve probably tried this, and it’s probably worked for you too. It takes a little calibration, a little banter, a little charm, and a little practice, but it’ll work.
